For more than 100 years, we have applied our legal skills and knowledge towards pro bono efforts to strengthen the rule of law, fight injustice and protect the environment. 

More than 100 partners and counsel serve as Pro Bono Leaders, who help White & Case's Global Pro Bono Practice achieve lasting impacts worldwide.

Our cutting-edge pro bono work—including projects addressing racial and gender equality, immigrant rights and climate change—makes a tangible difference in people's lives. Our Racial Justice Task Force, in particular, works to eliminate these inequities through criminal justice system reform, education and economic empowerment.

Partnering with clients, NGOs and others

We undertake a wide variety of successful pro bono collaborations with our corporate clients and provide free legal assistance to more than 800 nonprofits and non-governmental organizations that focus on human rights, access to justice, good governance, environmental protection and social issues.

Every year, lawyers in all of our offices and 100 percent of our practices participate in pro bono. In 2023, our people contributed more than 105,000 hours of free legal services to assist our pro bono clients and partner organizations.

2022 Pro Bono Firm of the Year

For the second consecutive year, Who’s Who Legal has named White & Case as its 2022 "Pro Bono Firm of the Year" based on the Firm’s "outstanding work" in 2021 at its Who’s Who Legal Awards 2022.

Named “Pro Bono Innovator”

Bloomberg Law has named White & Case to its inaugural class of 15 "Pro Bono Innovators" at its 2022 Pro Bono Innovators awards. Honorees were selected for their outstanding commitment to "pro bono work for the underserved."

International Pro Bono Firm of the Year

In its tenth annual ceremony, the Women in Business Law Awards Europe honored White & Case as International Pro Bono Firm of the Year for its pro bono work advancing the rights of women and minority groups.

Asylum collaboration wins two CSR awards

The Greece Pro Bono Collaborative, an ambitious project on which White & Case provides pro bono services, was recognized by the Financial Times and Legal Week with awards for outstanding innovation in corporate social responsibility.
