In 2024, the New York State Bar Association awarded us the 2024 President's Pro Bono Service Award in the Large Law Firm category, in recognition of our New York lawyers’ pro bono service throughout 2023.

In 2024, our long-term pro bono partner HerJustice awarded White & Case the Firm Partnership Award during the 2024 Commitment to Justice Awards ceremony in March for our support of the Summer Associate Program.

In 2024, Children's Eye Foundation awarded our teams working to help prevent blindness in children with its Champion of Vision Award.

In 2023, Legal Services of Greater Miami awarded our Miami office with its Equal Justice Special Project of the Year Award for our work on LGBTQ+ rights.

In 2023, two of our pro bono matters – the Ferguson debtor's prison case and the Mexico City Immigration Amparo case – were "Highly Commended" by the Financial Times Innovation Awards North America and contributed the Firm's overall Top Five FT North America innovation ranking.

In 2023, for the second year running, the Racial Justice Task Force was recognized as The National Law Journal's DC Diversity Initiative of the Year.

In 2023, our US lawyers won Animal Legal Defense Fund's Advancement in Animal Law Pro Bono Achievement Award for their work on challenging an abusive kitten breeder and seller.

In 2023, The Lawyer recognized White & Case, along with five project partner firms and European Lawyers in Lesvos (ELIL), as winners of the "Best Pro Bono Initiative" award for the Ukrainian Pro Bono Collaborative, whereby our lawyers advise Ukrainian refugees in Poland on immigration and relocation issues.

In 2023, Latin Lawyer selected our Mexico City office as a "Pro Bono Leading Light" for its commitment to pro bono work in Mexico City and throughout Latin America.

In 2020, the Financial Times FT Innovative Lawyers North America named White & Case winner of the "Social Justice and Rule of Law Award" for reaching a $20m settlement on behalf of the children of Flint, Michigan who developed special education needs as a result of lead poisoning from the city's water supply.

In 2020, Global pro bono clearinghouse PILnet awarded White & Case and five project partner firms its Pro Bono Publico Award for our work on the Greece Pro Bono Collaborative project.

The International Financial Law Review's 2020 Middle East Awards recognized White & Case as Pro Bono Firm of the Year.

In 2020, White & Case was Commended by the Financial Times European Innovative Lawyers Awards for its work on a funding mechanism to drive investment from Islamic countries to help reduce cholera in collaboration with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the Islamic Development Bank.

In 2020, White & Case won two awards for its work on the Greece Pro Bono Collaborative (GPBC) project. The firm and its GPBC partners jointly won the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Europe 2020 Award for 'Innovation in social responsibility.' They also won the CSR Innovation (Multi-Firm) Award from Legal Week's Legal Innovation Awards 2020. The project supported charities European Lawyers in Lesvos and Refugee Legal Support in helping refugees on the Greek islands with their applications for asylum.

In 2019, White & Case's work on the Cornwall webcam advice outreach project with University House and others was awarded Best New Pro Bono Activity 2019 – Commendation by LawWorks Pro Bono Awards.

In 2019, White & Case was Commended by the Financial Times FT Innovative Lawyers North America for our pro bono representation of the anti-corruption organization Mexicanos Contra la Corrupción y la Impunidad, which sued the Mexico City government for failing to fill the position of commissioner of the city's Transparency Institute. The report noted that this failure "meant 2,000 freedom of information requests had not been fulfilled."

The International Financial Law Review's 2019 Middle East Awards recognized White & Case as Pro Bono Firm of The Year.

In 2019, the Animal Legal Defense Fund awarded us the Animal Legal Defense Fund Advancement in Animal Law Pro Bono Achievement Award for our animal rights-related pro bono work.

In 2019, White & Case was awarded The Veterans Consortium's Law Firm Pro Bono Mission Partner Award for our work on behalf of veterans in need.

In 2019, our work developing a Disaster Risk Management Law Index for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies won a Commended ranking by Financial Times FT Innovative Lawyers Europe 2019.

In 2019, The American Bar Association's Death Penalty Representation Project awarded us its Exceptional Service Award for our commitment to death penalty representation.

In 2018, our work securing lead-exposure testing for at-risk children in Flint, Michigan won a Commended ranking by Financial Times FT Innovative Lawyers North America 2018.

In 2018, Financial Times' FT Innovative Lawyers Europe 2018 awarded White & Case first place and a Standout ranking in the Rule of Law and Access to Justice category for our work protecting the rights of same-sex spouses to move freely in Europe. We were also awarded The Good Lobby's 2018 Best Collaboration of the Year Award for our collaboration with Romanian NGO ACCEPT on this case.

In 2017, TrustLaw, the Thomson Reuters Foundation's pro bono clearinghouse, recognized us with its Impact Award for our pro bono work with Unchained at Last to end child marriage in the US.

In 2017, The American Lawyer recognized White & Case with its Global Corporate Social Responsibility Project of the Year award for our Legal Ethics Training Program in Ghana.

In 2017, White & Case was awarded the Legal Aid Society's Honorable Jonathan Lippman New York Pro Bono Publico & Public Service Law Firm Award, its top honor.

Partner Owen Pell's ten-year body of work with the Auschwitz Institute for Peace and Reconciliation to prevent genocide received a Standout commendation by the Financial Times in the social responsibility category of the FT European Innovative Lawyers 2015 report.

Global Health Investment Fund won a Commended ranking for its innovation by the Financial Times in the social responsibility category of the FT North America Innovative Lawyers 2014 report.

Work to create the Online LGBT Tax Resource, an innovative tool that leverages technology to provide pro bono legal assistance to same-sex married couples in the United States, won a "Commended" ranking for its innovation by the Financial Times in the FT North America Innovative Lawyers 2014 report. This project also received the 2015 Corporate Pro Bono Award from Corporate Pro Bono (CPBO), a global partnership project of the Pro Bono Institute (PBI) and the Association of Corporate Counsel. The Firm collaborated with The Bank of New York Mellon and the National LGBT Bar Association on this project.

Work on anti-terrorist vetting procedures earned a Commended ranking for its innovation by the Financial Times in the social responsibility category of the FT Innovative Lawyers 2014 report.

In 2013, The American Lawyer recognized White & Case with its first Global Citizenship Grand Prize for our Fighting Human Trafficking Initiative. The Initiative couples representation of human trafficking victims and support for leading anti-trafficking NGOs with efforts to bring about systemic change in the ways human trafficking cases are prosecuted and the protection countries offer to their domestic workers. Approximately 200 associates and 30 partners from 27 offices worked on an anti-human trafficking pro bono matter recognized by this award.

The Thomson Reuters Foundation honored our work over the past five years with a special Anniversary Award given to the firm which has done the most for the first five years of TrustLaw, its pro bono clearinghouse. We have taken on more than 100 matters referred by TrustLaw. In 2013, we received the 2013 Trust Law Impact Award for our work researching legislation and regulations related to the protection of domestic workers, which helped change law in the Philippines. We have also received the TrustLaw Innovation Award for our work on the Xii, the world's first social stock exchange and the TrustLaw Pro Bono Leaders Award for Best International Law Firm.
