Educating future leaders

Jessup

White & Case is the Global Partner of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. With more than 3,500 law students hailing from nearly 100 countries participating each year, the Jessup is the world's largest moot court competition.

The Firm's involvement with the Jessup goes back many years and is driven by the passion of our many Jessup alumni who believe that the competition is one of the great learning opportunities for law students and a way to enhance the sense of community among the world's lawyers.

The Firm is the sponsor of the White & Case International Rounds, or world championships, and up to as many as 15 national and regional rounds.

ALL RISE: Journeys to a Just World

In an effort to further promote the Jessup, White & Case worked with the International Law Students Association (ILSA), the organization that administers the competition, and a documentary film company to create an award-winning feature-length film—ALL RISE: Journeys to a Just World. The film highlights the scope and impact of the Jessup through the journeys of passionate law students taking part in the 2014 competition. More information on the film is found here.

Jessup Competitor Guide and Judge Training

To help students and Jessup judges better prepare for the competition, White & Case created the Jessup Competitor Guide a student-focused "how-to" manual with recommendations on competing in the Jessup, and the Jessup Judge Training videos which walk lawyers through the basics of judging.
