Overview

Lucy Raffel is an Associate in the mergers & acquisitions practice group based in Sydney, Australia.

Lucy has experience in advising domestic and international clients on a broad range of corporate transactions, including joint ventures, public and private mergers, regulatory compliance (including Australia's offshore energy and infrastructure regulatory regime) and general corporate advisory with a particular focus on transactions in the energy and oil and gas industries.

Prior to joining White & Case, Lucy worked in commercial litigation at a firm based in Perth, Western Australia.

Representation of Macquarie Asset Management's new global battery storage platform, Eku Energy, on its acquisition of certain seed assets.

Representation of MidOcean Energy (an EIG portfolio company) on its $18.4 billion proposed acquisition of Origin Energy by scheme of arrangement in consortium with Brookfield, including the sale of Origin Energy's energy markets business to Brookfield and the US $500 million pre-sale of a 2.49% interest in Australia Pacific LNG to ConocoPhillips.

Representation of EIG Partners on its US $2.15 billion proposed acquisition of Tokyo Gas' Australian LNG assets.

Experience in large scale M&A & capital raising* processes.

Providing specialised advice on foreign investment in Australian assets.

Representation of numerous clients in civil and commercial litigation in the Western Australian magistrates, district and supreme court, Fair Work Commission and Australian Human Rights Commission.*
